Fun, adventure, and teamwork as our new starters take part in an Amazing Race around Melbourne
At Schiavello Construction, we do things a little differently.
Unlike the usual welcome programme of slideshows, seminars, and generic swag bags we welcome our fresh faces with a race around our hometown of Melbourne.
Our 2019 Amazing Race began at Crown Metropol with teams of two and three. Armed with only $20 and a healthy dose of competition, our interstate new starters navigated their way through the bustling streets of the CBD and hidden laneways of Melbourne.
They visited multiple checkpoints in the city each centring on one of our local landmarks and construction projects. Among other challenges, the teams had to take selfies with an animal, outside a sporting arena, and Schiavello hoarding at a live site. All while travelling with a piece of furniture for that extra challenge!
The winning team received a trophy and the all-important bragging rights. The prize may not have been a million dollars, and our teams didn’t get to visit all corners of the world, but they did walk away having discovered all the nooks and crannies that make Melbourne, Melbourne.
