‘World-class’ new school campus for the Adelaide Hills
We have begun work on two significant building projects worth a combined $24 million for Adelaide-based King’s Baptist Grammar School.
In the Adelaide Hills, our team is working in cooperation with Hodgkinson Architecture, WSP Engineers and project manager Rider Levett Bucknall to deliver a new school campus comprising more than 2,500 square metres of learning facilities. This includes four classrooms, a library, administration building, student diversity facility, playground and gardens.
Following a ground-breaking ceremony in April, we began work on the $15 million campus and expect to hand over the project in time for Term 1, 2023, when the school will welcome new students from ELC to Grade 2.
The Adelaide Hills Campus is being constructed on a five-hectare parcel of land in Bollen Road, Mount Barker, creating 200 jobs during the construction phase. School principal Don Grimmett says the campus will eventually cater for up to 1,200 students by 2033 when its first Year 12 class graduates, and will provide “world-class teaching and learning opportunities”.
Three-level Middle School for Wynn Vale
Concurrently, we also commenced in April on a second project for King’s Baptist – a $9 million development to deliver a new Middle School facility at the school’s Wynn Vale campus, due for handover in June 2022.
The 3,200sqm building will be delivered in partnership with Marchese Partners, FMG Engineering and Meinhardt. It will include 16 classrooms, eight outdoor learning areas, four student breakout spaces, a ‘maker space’ including cooking classrooms, and staff and office facilities.
