MPavilion 2021

Fabricating an urban lighthouse

We will play a significant role in this year’s MPavilion season by fabricating the festival’s centrepiece in Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Gardens.

MPavilion is a summertime cultural season that runs across five months from November-March. It features a series of performances, workshops, installations and child-friendly experiences. This year’s MPavilion has been designed by MAP Studio in Venice. Dubbed ‘The Lightcatcher’, the structure has been envisioned as an urban lighthouse that will illuminate the events that take place.

Manufacturing and fabrication for the three-dimensional steel lattice structure and its mirrored panels will be completed at our Manufacturing facility based in Tullamarine. Overseeing the production line in-house gives us complete control over supplier lead times so we can commit to the requirements of the build while still producing a high-quality product.

Working alongside partners Aecom and Gardner Group, we will take MAP Studio’s concept from vision to reality.

MPavilion is set to be unveiled on December 2nd.
