Elegan Apartments Project Announcement

Construction is now underway on Elegan Apartments, a new residential development within the Glenside masterplanned community that will deliver 116 sustainable apartments to Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.

Developed by Cedar Woods and designed by Brown Falconer, the six-storey building will sit within the established Botanica, Grace, Monarch and Banksia precincts, continuing the transformation of the former Glenside Hospital site into a connected urban village at the base of the Adelaide foothills. Delivered by Schiavello Construction, the project combines contemporary apartment living with a strong focus on sustainability and community connection.

The development includes a mix of 25 one-bedroom, 76 two-bedroom and 15 three-bedroom apartments, designed to balance shared living with privacy and comfort. Two residential lobbies will provide welcoming arrival points, while a landscaped communal terrace on Level 3 will feature BBQ facilities, planting and shared outdoor spaces aimed at encouraging resident interaction.

The project also includes extensive civil and infrastructure works, including earthworks, utility connections, new crossovers, irrigation, drainage and external landscaping. Secure bicycle storage, residential storage areas and two levels of podium parking with dual vehicle access points have also been incorporated into the design.

Sustainability sits at the core of the development, with Elegan targeting an 8.5-star NatHERS Energy Rating and operating entirely without fossil fuels. Solar powered communal areas, energy efficient heat pump hot water systems and electric vehicle charging infrastructure for every car park form part of the project’s environmental strategy. Due for completion in late 2027.
