A new move to Sydney CBD

Australia’s official statistical organisation, the Australian Bureau of Statistics has moved its NSW regional office to a new space in Sydney CBD.

Project managed by Colliers International and designed by Studio CCP, the new 5,152sqm workplace is a contemporary space that encourages connectivity through new technology and collaborative spaces.

The design concept reflects the client's operational environment; with each level incorporating a different part of the NSW landscape from outback, maritime, forest to urban jungle. Numbers and binary code are also featured as part of the design concept for the interior walls. Additionally, a movement towards a more flexible, efficient use of space was one of the key drivers for the design concept.

Achieving a high-quality outcome

Our NSW construction team was appointed head contractor for the interior construction of the space, which included four levels of office fitout encompassing training rooms, boardroom, meeting rooms, two breakout spaces to each level, and open plan workspaces. Responding to the design brief in a resourceful and creative manner helped the client achieve a high quality outcome.

Working as one team

A highly collaborative approach between our team, the project manager, Colliers International, and CCP allowed the team to move through project challenges including a tight stage 2 programme and the need to coordinate building access alongside four other interior construction projects happening simultaneously, towards a positive end result that all parties are extremely pleased with. Schiavello looks forward to working with this excellent team again.

Schiavello would like to extend special congratulations to Colliers International Associate Director Suellen Brown-Riggs, who was awarded the Project Management Award at the annual NAWIC Awards for Excellence for her outstanding contribution to this challenging project alongside two others simultaneously.
