Fast-tracked to completion
Schiavello's NSW construction team was awarded the contract to complete the building upgrade and interior construction of levels 8 and 9 for the National Broadband Network (NBN) construction depot office based on the commitment to deliver the project within the short timeframe that was required. After the tender was awarded based on an eight-week programme, the client then asked if it could be done in five weeks. The program was fast tracked to achieve this.
A commitment to environmental sustainability
The project included the construction of breakout areas, meeting rooms and open plan offices. NBN sought to reduce the environmental impact in the way it operates its business and implemented practices that were environmentally sustainable and socially responsible. This saw many of the existing components of the fitout reused and EchoPanel used for the walls and recycled timber posts around the breakout areas.
There was also an upgrade to the base building generator that required coordination of the base building services.
