Expert knowledge enabled fast-tracked fitout
Federation University Australia is an Australian success story with a 150 year history and 20,000 students. A growth in student numbers has created the opportunity to provide new teaching facilities and breakout spaces at the Brisbane campus.
The experience of completing a project on the campus three years earlier, based on a design by architects Conrad Gargett, enabled our team to fast-track the fitout as we had a thorough understanding of the building structure.
“Our team brought expert knowledge of the base building scheme, including services infrastructure. The new works were delivered under a design and construct ‘open book’ model, providing transparency for stakeholders,” explains Project Manager Enda O’Reilly.
A multi-faceted project
The strip-out and demolition of existing furnishings, fixtures, and services, made way for improved classrooms, computer laboratories, meeting room, office and breakout areas. The space was further enhanced with the installation of audio visual equipment and state-of-the-art technology.
Modern, functional, flawless
The finished project at Federation University Australia definitely lives up to the expectations of improving life on campus.
The facilities on-trend design and uplifting décor is furnished with the World Chair by Schiavello Furniture. Upholstered study nooks give students ample breakout space, while sound-absorbing laminated ceiling paneling, and other acoustic measures deliver a quiet environment.
Students will feel more like they are arriving at a trendy office or co-working space than a traditional lecture hall and study room. The campus reflects Federation University Australia’s purpose to transform lives and enhance communities.
