Bringing multiple Symal teams together under one roof, the South Melbourne workplace was designed to foster connection, collaboration and a strong sense of identity. Balancing functionality with hospitality-inspired design, the fitout creates an engaging and memorable environment that supports both day-to-day operations and team culture.
With a fixed vacate and move-in date driving the programme, our project management team adopted a proactive procurement strategy to secure long lead-time items early and maintain programme certainty throughout construction. This forward planning ensured the project remained on track without compromising quality or design outcomes.
A hotel-style reception with a large digital screen creates a strong first impression, opening into flexible workspaces, breakout and social areas that encourage interaction. Meeting rooms, a library, executive suite, games area and immersive studio offer varied settings for focused work, collaboration and client engagement, creating a dynamic yet refined workplace.
Quality remained a central focus throughout delivery, with the site team’s attention to detail achieving a consistently high standard of finish and minimal defects at completion.
Sustainability initiatives were embedded throughout the construction process, with reducing, reusing, recycling and responsible disposal practices implemented to minimise environmental impact and support NABERS rating objectives.
