This year, we have all experienced dramatic changes to the way that we work and how we think about our workplace and the impact that it can have on our health and wellbeing. The most notable change to our way of working was undoubtedly the swift implementation of flexible and remote working programs in response to the COVID-19 outbreak in Australia.
Months later, organisations across the country are currently working very differently. For some, employees are working from home full-time with no date set for when they will return to the workplace, whilst in other organisations employees returned to the workplace weeks ago. With so much uncertainty surrounding when and how to safely return to the workplace, Schiavello saw an opportunity to explore the different approaches taken by organisations and use this knowledge to help our clients to navigate and understand the future of working and the workplace.
To do this, we went straight to the source – our clients – and asked them about how they are managing the current situation and what it will mean for them in the short, medium and long term. We spoke to over 70 of our clients, from a variety of industries and discussed their experiences and lessons learned from hastily implementing flexible and remote working. We also asked about the challenges and the potential opportunities of returning to the workplace post-COVID-19.
This client research has formed the basis of our report “The evolution of work and the workplace post-COVID-19”.
