Inviting and calming, Palomino cradles the body. The long sculpted lines flowing from the back into the arms combine with the bucket-style seating to create a high level of seating comfort, cradling the user not just at the back but also at the sides.

A lounge chair at heart, Palomino creates inviting spaces and evokes a sense of comfort. At the office, the chair is well suited to break out areas, training rooms, meeting and boardrooms. For the home, Palomino is a relaxed, calming addition to home offices, living and dining spaces.

Palomino’s number of base options – including timber, 4 star, castors, sled base and glides – and upholstery options including a variety of leathers and fabrics, presents versatility in function and personality, making it ideal for myriad settings. Two back heights add more possibilities for customising the form.

Product Story Designer Story

Palomino was born as the compact, versatile younger sibling of the Paloma family, a similar style design with sweeping form yet with a lower seat height and higher back. Designed by Ivan Woods, the form lines of Paloma have been elegantly scaled down to produce Palomino – a chair with a single upholstered shell.

Characterised by its sculptured form, Palomino’s long, sweeping lines create an attractive yet refined aesthetic. Inviting and calming, Palomino cradles the body and creates a high level of seating comfort.

Thanks to myriad base options, Palomino presents versatility in function and personality, making it ideal for a variety of settings, from home offices to informal community areas, receptions areas and meeting spaces.

The late Ivan Woods designed interiors and products for over 30 years. His work drew inspiration from his travels and interior architecture training in Perth, Australia. Working across projects within the UK, US, Germany and Italy, Ivan specialised in hotel and workspace design.

Schiavello and Ivan Woods maintained a solid history together. Our collaborative design process, which evolved over a decade, yielded distinctive collections such as Toro Collection in 2011, Palomino Chair in 2014, and both Kayt Village and Bomba Sofa in 2015.

With a strong architectural sensibility and carefully considered geometry, Ivan enriched his designs' emotional qualities in the fine detailing and sense of place. Ivan explained, "Good design is the creation of spaces, experiences and objects, embedded with strong and dynamic emotional connections to the people that use them. This is done through reflecting a sense of place, with a cultural authenticity and aesthetic.”
