The design of Piper was inspired, in part, by Schiavello’s favoured Aire collection of tables and workbenches, designed by Mario Ruiz. Light and versatile, Aire’s ability to adapt to new working requirements is synonymous with its design.
The table’s success is largely due to its ability to provide a cohesive aesthetic for training, meeting and work settings alike. Based on this, Schiavello sought to add an entry-level workstation with similar capabilities to its product range. With a flexible nature and unified range similar to that of Aire’s, Piper filled the market gap for a quality made, highly adaptable and entry-level workstation. With fabricated steel legs and a powerful, angular stance, Piper provides a similar flexibility to Aire with a more traditional, robust appearance.
The Schiavello Design Studio is made up of a number of talented product designers and engineers. The studio has been the driving force behind a number of Schiavello’s most successful designs, including Krossi in 2013, the first Australian made and designed sit/stand desk, and the pioneering Climate workplace system in 2010, still one of the most malleable products of its kind.
